Visit the cliff-facing Airstrip atop Mount Thesiger, which was once part of the old Transkei Military Base and is now used for private aircrafts. Perch yourself atop the whopping 342m high cliff, while enjoying a picnic and sundowners. The view of the Umzimvubu River will take your breath away!

A particular attraction is a hike to The Gap and Blow Hole; water from the sea is forced into a narrow gully which ends in a natural chimney-like hole from which the water shoots about 20 meters into the air, the Blow Hole is a testament to natures’ power – don’t get too close! It is quite an adventure to climb down a ladder and through a narrow gap to get to the viewpoint, make sure you are wearing comfortable hiking shoes.

Experience the local culture; immerse yourself in the vibrant local culture by visiting the surrounding Xhosa villages. Learn about their traditions, try traditional food, and interact with the friendly locals. Dive through the local village with sidewalks strewn with vendors selling fresh veggies, nuts and a stunning collection of traditional attire. Have a freshly Braaied Mielie from a local vendor and if you are feeling adventurous, try their Braaied Chicken Feet!
